There were sad news about the deadly incidents of earth quake, tsunami & tidal waves in Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, India & Sril Lanka on the 26 Dec. at 0100 am gmt. Somehow Myanmar ( formerly Burma ) escaped and its 3 prime beaches of Ngapali, Chaung Tha & Ngwe Saung are intact and full with tourist. The earth quake and tidal waves had no effect on Myanmar hot spots and beaches. Myanmar is safe & sound and full of tourist as before. NOTHING TO WORRY, YOU CAN VISIT US ANY TIME ! NO MATERIAL DESTRUCTION OR HUMAN FATALATIES -- " 0 " RECORD.
BURMA IS THE SAFEST PLACE TO VISIT -- no sars - storm - earth quakes --- tsunamis religious fanatics or extremist. In Myanmar you will not hear about Taliban, Bin Laden, Al Qaeda, Abu Mussab Al - Zarqawi or Mahdi Army. Myanmar is not Iraq, Indonesia or Somalia. Seeing is believing --- Myanmar is unlike any land you had ever known or seen.

Ref : Effects of earthquake and tidal waves in Myanmar
The Myanmar Tourism Promotion Board would like to release the following information concerning the earthquake and Tsunamis that hit our region on 26 December.
Although the earthquake was felt all over Myanmar, damage was minimal. Throughout the southern provinces of Myanmar,a few buildings collapsed as a result.The coastal areas of the Ayeyarwaddy Division, were hit by tidal waves, and The New Light of Myanmar reported on 28 December that 17 villages were destroyed, making 200 people homeless, 45 injured and 25 missing.
There are no reports of damage or loss of lives in the other coastal areas. The 3 main beach destinations for tourists - Ngwe Saung Beach, Chaungtha and Ngapali Beach reported unusual tidal activity on Sunday and Monday, however no damage or immediate danger occurred to residents and visitors.
The Myanmar Tourism Promotion Board would like to stress that there is no damage to the main tourism destinations. The hotel, airline and transport industry operated normally throughout Sunday 26 December upto today.
Our heart goes out to all of our colleagues, staff, guests, friends and family who are more directly involved in this disaster and we send our heartfelt prayers to the victims and families.
